The 2023 Wood River Halloween Parade will be held on Saturday, October 28th at 10:30 am. The official line-up will begin at 9:30 am. The Parade begins at Emerick Park on Sixth St, proceeds south on Sixth to Ferguson Ave, west on Ferguson to Wood River Ave, then north on Wood River Ave ending at Central Park.
Please remember, the parade is for the children. All entries should be in the Halloween theme. Any advertising should be secondary to decorations and costumes. This does not apply to antique and emergency vehicles.
We request that no campaign materials be distributed.
There will be (3) $200 float prizes awarded near the end of the parade route. No prizes will be distributed at Central Park at the completion of the parade to minimize the congregation of participants. The Roundhouse parking lot will remain available for use after the parade to assist groups/floats with pick-up locations.
Line-up assignments will be emailed by October 25th.
Halloween Parade Route
As recommended by the CDC/IDPH, individuals are encouraged, but not required, to wear face coverings in crowded outdoor settings and for activities that involve close contact with others who are not fully vaccinated, especially in communities with higher numbers of COVID-19 cases.
We want our community to enjoy the event, but also take into consideration and be respectful to those around you. Masks and/or social distance as needed.
