Plumbing Permit
State of Illinois Plumbing Code (Current Edition)
Required
Plumbing permits are required for new construction,
substantial renovation or relocation of existing plumbing.
A plumbing permit is also required when replacing or
repairing a water or sewer lateral that may affect the
City’s main or protrudes into the public right-of-way. In
addition, a street-cut permit may also be required for work
affecting the City’s main.
Application
A completed "Application for
Building/Electrical/Plumbing Permit" must be accompanied
with a proposed plan for the plumbing system along with the
name of the plumber doing the work and his/her license number.
Review
These plans will be forwarded to the Illinois Department of
Public Health for their review and comments. All further
correspondence and review will be conducted by the State
Plumbing Inspector.
Inspection
Applicants will have to notify the Illinois Department of
Health at (618 )656-6680 to schedule an inspection with the
State Plumbing Inspector. A copy of the inspection report will
be forwarded to the City by the State Plumbing Inspector to be
included with the permit files.
Letter of Completion
This permit will not receive any final certificate from the
City.
